You have to be mad to run a business in France
We had our annual visit to the accountant the good news was he reduced the profit the bad being the social charges were based on the previous year so we are paying even more social contributions,they dream up a new tax every year. Income tax isn't a problem its the social security payments and pension contributions which are hammering independent workers. A friend had a quote for some electrical wiring in a new house it was €6000 probably €500 on equipment €2000for his business the rest for the government. France's answer to a faltering econmy is to create more functionaries and tax self employed I 'm begining to sound like a tory.
Max had a job offer from the Marie a very amusing letter saying they had the honour to invite him to join their team of "equipment " (which cleans the street and the toilets ) It makes stacking shelves in Super U sound more intellectually challenging
