This years pool winner
The pool competition this year had an epic final a 3 way tie so there was 2 play offs Jonnie lost them both to his wife Frances and Annie so there was an all female final with Annie firing away to a good lead only for Frances to come back from 5 balls down to pot the black and win the competition. Xav won the juniors then he is on home turf and plays regularly.
The annual beach football match left me on the sidelines after clashing with Bas in a tackle giving a large bruise on the leg ( age catching up with me ) .Paulien has been busy painting Max's studio appartment in Brest as it was too white and kitting it out with the necessary student things , the term starts 11th of September so not long before another one has left the nest but I guess he will be back at the weekends to play football for Plestin.
My summer project was to work on by classic peugeot as the garage quoted me 1400€ to repair it as the head gasket had gone. I received lots of advice from clients mainly Phil and also bought a Hayes manual on ebay. I seemed to have done every operation about 6 times the last in desperation after ringing my brother in law who has a garage who suggested towing it so after 100m and a lot of smoke the lion roared again!

Disaster week
We had 2 disasters last week the first being the dog on the corner broke into the rabbits cage and killed the rabbit which upset Paulien and she promptly went to the farmer and told him off it wasn't until lunchtime I mentioned the tourist 's dog on the corner that she realised she had got the wrong dog so had to go back and eat humble pie to the farmer and tell off the people with the second home on the corner. The dog is a serial killer as they immediately gave Paulien 40€ and said "Oh he's done it again ". She should have said there were 2 rabbits, however she promptly rebuilt the hutch and bought 2 "toy rabbits" (as advertised in the shop ) . It will be interesting to see how long before the husky dog comes calling again.
The other disaster was more serious a breakage in the pool table mechanism ( this means everyone plays for free..........) just at the start of the annual pool competition which this year is sponsered by CMB (local bank proved 2 cups and some goodies ) and N power. The first round has only one shock result Bas losing to Frances by potting the black. More results to be posted later
